I just got off the phone with my local pharmacy. The nice lady thought there was a serious problem with the system and she could not get my prescriptions filled.
Lady: "I can't get it to go through!"
Me: "I don't have health insurance."
Lady: "I'll need your new insurance card if you got one"
Me: " I no longer have health insurance"
Lady: "What? You don't? Well then you are going to have to pay cash for this, hold on please."
LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA (hold music)
Lady: "Will you be able to pay for this?"
Me: "Yes, how much is it?"
Lady: "I'll put you on our uninsured discount program"
Great, so it seems as though I'm on pharmacy welfare.
Why was this so shocking to her? Half of the country doesn't have health insurance because they don't have jobs, have been rejected from individual plans, or just cant afford it. BIG SURPRISE.
So thank you Obama, for finally putting forth SOMETHING that might help me out here as far as healthcare.
It's a huge debate. I don't even have enough space on this blog to go on further. All I can say is that it's extremely frustrating.
After my Cobra plan expired, I've already been rejected once because my "calculated number" was .01 over "average."A young, healthy woman is obviously a huge risk. (sarcasm)
Here's hoping the broker I've been working with comes through, because we all know I am accident prone! So please all of you watch our for my health, or stay away from me if you are sick...or else you are footing the bill. Horseplay is also not allowed as injuries may occur.
